Hybrid Learners Hands-On at Lords Park! ¡Aprendices híbridos prácticos en Lords Park!

  We are so excited to see students in our classrooms, even if they are at a distance from each other. Last week, second grade Dual Language students investigated solids, liquids, and gases. Ms. Garcia's students were learning about changes of state. As you can see, there were plenty of smiles behind the masks!  Estamos muy emocionados de ver a los estudiantes en nuestras aulas, incluso si están a distancia unos de otros. La semana pasada, los estudiantes de segundo grado de Lenguaje Dual investigaron sólidos, líquidos y gases. Los estudiantes de la Sra. García estaban aprendiendo sobre los cambios de estado. Como puede ver, ¡había muchas sonrisas detrás de las máscaras!

 ¡Feliz año nuevo! / Happy New Year! Welcome Back, Lords Park Lions! Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a safe, healthy, and restful break with family and/or loved ones. For many of us, we were not able to participate in normal winter break activities including, visiting with our entire families or friends in-person. This has been especially challenging since many have been minimizing large group contact since last March. The prospect of the new year reminds us of the importance of hope, resilience, and a renewed commitment to caring for ourselves and others.  Hope that community-wide health conditions continue to improve and that we can steadily begin to enter the end of the global health pandemic. We look to hope for our school community as it heals from the traumas of the pandemic. Resiliency as we collectively overcome obstacles, innovating through hybrid in-person and distance learning while persevering through the second half of the school year. Care for ourselves and other

Classroom Visitors for Veteran's Day and Read Across America!

La semana pasada, tuvimos el honor de que la Sra. Robelo viniera a participar en nuestro "Leer para el Registro."  This past week, we had the honor of having Ms. Robelo come to participate in our "Read for the Record."    Mr. Moorehouse shared his story serving in military as a young man during our Veteran's Voices presentation. El Sr. Moorehouse  compartió su historia sirviendo en el ejército cuando era joven durante nuestra presentación de Veteran's Voices.

Parents + School Community = Student Success!

The first PTLP Meeting! -  ¡La primera reunión de PTLP! This past week, our PTLP (Parents and Teachers of Lords Park) came together to connect and begin planning for the school year. We had a great turnout on Monday night and two parents attended the CAC (Citizen's Advisory Council)  general meeting on Thursday night. Thank you to all parents that go above and beyond every day to support your students and school community! La semana pasada, nuestro PTLP (Padres y Maestros de Lords Park) se unieron para conectar y comenzar a planificar el año escolar. Tuvimos una gran participación el lunes por la noche y dos padres asistieron a la reunión general del CAC (Consejo Asesor de Ciudadanos) el jueves por la noche. ¡Gracias a todos los padres que van más allá cada día para apoyar a sus estudiantes y la comunidad escolar!

Thank you for an amazing first week of school! It was great to see all of our students smiling and returning to Lords Park Elementary School. We are excited about the new school year and look forward to partnering with you to support our students. Below are some pictures of our family picnic. It's a great day to be a Lords Park Lion! ¡Gracias por una increíble primera semana de escuela! Fue genial ver a todos nuestros estudiantes sonriendo y regresando a la Escuela Primaria Lords Park.
